My First Machine made Quilt for B's 2nd Birthday!

I LOVE to sew and have always wanted to make a quilt but have been too scared to tackle it.  B loves to have things with lots of characters and lots of colors so I decided to make him a quilt for my first project.  I started by taking a trip to the fabric store and Flannel was 50% off so I bought quarters of several different flannel fabrics and a flannel fabric for backing.  I also had a coupon for 50% of of batting so I got a twin size batting for 5$.  I also purchased a pre-made trim since I was unsure if I could make one.  I cut up and sewed all the squares together then sandwiched the three layers together and Machine quilted following the lines of the squares.

Here is a close up of the fabrics.

Front and Back shown.

Completed Blanket!
The sunlight in the back made the picture blurry but this is Ben opening the quilt at his birthday party!
My 2 year old.  This was best picture the sunlight behind us really affected the pictures.
